Scholarships are available from the University of Missouri, CAFNR and your academic major. The MU Annual Scholarship Application qualifies students for nearly all scholarships — only one application is needed.

AST Program Scholarships

Freshmen

The following scholarships and awards are available for freshmen students:

  • Alumni Scholarships and Awards
    Given to as many promising entering freshmen as funds will allow. Applicant’s record must indicate a high probability of success in Agricultural Systems Management. Selection is based on scholarship and need.
  • J.C. Wooley Scholarship
    Given to the second highest rated freshman entering programs in the Agricultural Systems Management or Biological Engineering department. Selection is based on ACT, class rank and high school grade point average.
  • Agricultural Engineering Alumni Scholarships
    For graduates of Missouri high schools majoring in agricultural systems management. Based on grades, character, need and interest in the field.
  • Bill Hires Scholarship Fund
    For students studying Agricultural Systems Management with an emphasis and special interest in power and machinery. Preference is for incoming freshmen.
  • M.M. Jones Freshman Scholarship
    For entering freshmen majoring in biological engineering or agricultural systems management. Based on ACT, class rank and high school GPA.
  • Kenneth L. McFate-National Food and Energy Council Electrification Scholarship
    For freshmen interested in distribution of electrical power.

Upper-class

The following scholarships and awards are available for upper-class students:

  • R.P. Beasley Memorial Scholarship
    For sophomores, juniors or seniors majoring in agricultural systems management. Based on academic performance, character, participation in school activities and financial need.
  • Missouri Section ASAE Leadership Award
    One recipient from Agricultural Systems Management – selected from junior class on basis of leadership ability and academic achievement.
  • Eric D. Vandeloecht Scholarship
    For outstanding juniors and seniors majoring in agricultural systems management. Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or better, be a resident of Missouri and a U.S. citizen with outstanding character, leadership potential and possessing strong moral traits.
  • J. Keith Melvin Scholarship
    For juniors or seniors majoring in agricultural systems management or biological engineering with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or better. Outstanding character, leadership potential and possessing strong moral traits are considered.
  • Paul N. Doll
    Outstanding student, including academic and co-curricular leadership or participation. Biological Engineering faculty established this award to honor Paul N. Doll. Given to BE majors with 30 or more semester hours.
  • Neil F. Meador
    Given by the family to sophomore or junior BE student with promise of future success and with need.
  • Lloyd E. Hightower Fund for Agricultural Systems Management
    For undergraduate or graduate students pursuing a course of study in agricultural systems management.
  • Joel DeRosear Scholarship
    For juniors and seniors majoring in biological engineering, agricultural systems management or a related field of study. A good academic performance is required.
  • Charles Fulhage Scholarship
    For juniors and seniors majoring in biological engineering, agricultural systems management or a related field of study. A good academic performance is required.
